Our Service Offerings
Three Consulting Engagements, Each Designed for Clarity
Structured scope, defined deliverables, and a senior consultant leading the work from start to finish.
Back to HomeOur Methodology
How We Approach Every Engagement
Before work begins on any Batik Compass engagement, we spend time with your leadership team to understand the specific context — the history of the issue, the constraints you're working within, and what a useful outcome would actually look like for your organisation.
This scoping phase is not billable and not performative. It is how we ensure that the engagement we design is worth doing. If we identify that your situation calls for a different type of support, we will say so rather than stretch our service to fit.
Each engagement then follows a structured process with defined phases, milestone check-ins, and a final deliverable review before handover. Our peer review step — where a second consultant reviews key findings — is built into the timeline, not added under pressure.
Discovery & Scoping
Initial conversation to understand your situation, objectives, and constraints. We define the scope, deliverables, and timeline together.
Research & Analysis
The substantive engagement work — research, interviews, framework development, or programme governance — led by a named principal consultant.
Peer Review
Key findings are reviewed internally by a second principal before being presented to you. No single consultant's output reaches a client unreviewed.
Delivery & Handover
Structured presentation of findings and deliverables, followed by a handover session to ensure your team can use and maintain the outputs independently.
Service 01
Competitive Intelligence Briefing
A concise, high-value engagement that provides your leadership team with a structured understanding of your competitive environment. Consultants research and analyse your primary competitors' strategies, market positions, recent moves, and publicly available performance indicators.
The deliverable is a competitor intelligence briefing document that presents findings in a clear, comparative format — enabling informed decision-making without speculation. The briefing is designed to be refreshable on a periodic basis for ongoing strategic awareness.
Key Benefits
- Structured picture of competitor strategies and positioning
- Identification of gaps and opportunities in the competitive landscape
- Comparative format enabling direct leadership discussion
- Refreshable design for periodic updates
- Findings grounded entirely in publicly available information

Service 02
Data Governance Framework
A consulting engagement that helps your organisation establish clear policies, roles, and processes for managing its data assets. This service assesses your current data landscape — storage, access, quality, and compliance — and develops a governance framework suited to your scale and regulatory environment.
Consultants work with IT, compliance, and business teams to ensure the framework is both practical and enforceable. Designed for organisations recognising that data has become a strategic asset requiring deliberate stewardship.
Key Benefits
- Governance framework aligned to Singapore PDPA requirements
- Clear ownership and accountability for data assets
- Practical standards your teams can actually maintain
- Reduced data quality and compliance risk exposure
- Cross-functional alignment between IT, compliance, and business
Service 03
Transformation Programme Management
A hands-on advisory engagement where consultants serve as programme management partners during a significant organisational transformation — whether a technology overhaul, structural reorganisation, or operational redesign.
This service provides structured programme governance, milestone tracking, risk monitoring, and stakeholder reporting throughout the transformation lifecycle. Consultants act as an independent programme office, ensuring that initiatives stay aligned with strategic intent and that emerging challenges are addressed methodically. Suited for complex, multi-stream transformations where leadership needs a steady hand at the helm.
Key Benefits
- Independent oversight free from implementation conflicts of interest
- Structured risk monitoring and early warning systems
- Consistent stakeholder reporting at agreed cadence
- Strategic alignment maintained across multi-stream workstreams
- Lessons-learned compendium for future programmes
Deliverables Included

Shared Standards
Professional Protocols Across All Engagements
Confidentiality
Mutual NDA from day one. Named access only. Client materials are not retained after the agreed engagement period.
Senior Continuity
The consultant who scopes the work leads it. No handoffs to junior staff after engagement sign-off.
Peer Review
All substantive findings reviewed by a second principal before client delivery. Quality control is built into the process, not bolted on.
PDPA Alignment
All data handling practices aligned with Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. Documented data processing agreements in place.
Milestone Reporting
Progress updates at agreed milestones, not just at delivery. Emerging concerns raised proactively rather than at the end.
Scope Integrity
Scope is documented before work begins. Changes require a formal addendum — no informal expansions, no surprise invoices.
